International Standards for Welding Products Certification

Welding Products standards are international, voluntary guidelines that ensure the conformity assessment of production control systems, focusing on welding product quality requirements. These standards are crucial for maintaining high-quality welding practices across various industries.Key Welding Standards:
  • EN ISO 3834-2: Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding of Metallic Materials – Comprehensive Quality Requirements.
  • EN ISO 3834-3: Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding of Metallic Materials – Standard Quality Requirements.
  • EN ISO 3834-4: Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding of Metallic Materials – Elementary Quality Requirements.
  • EN 15085-2: Railway Applications – Welding of Railway Vehicles and Components – Requirements for Welding Manufacturer.

Purpose of the Welding Products Certification Scheme

The Welding Products Certification Scheme aims to assess and verify production control systems according to the above standards. The Scheme’s primary objectives include:
  • Verification Tool: Provide the industry with a reliable tool to verify the quality of welding products.
  • Industry Communication: Offer companies a trusted platform to communicate their welding product quality to the market.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that both products and production control systems meet or exceed the defined standards.
  • Market Relevance: Continuously update the Scheme to align with evolving market needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Adopt an ongoing development approach to maintain the Scheme’s relevance and effectiveness.
