EN 10025-1 Certification

EN 10025-1 Certification

EN 10025-1 Standard is a standard that contains general requirements for hot-rolled structural steels, flat and long products, used in the construction industry.

Purpose of EN 10025-1 Standard

It defines the fundamental rules and requirements that must be followed in the production of hot-rolled structural steels. This standard monitors the chemical composition, mechanical properties, and overall quality of the steels. Steels produced in accordance with the standard contribute to the durability and longevity of structures by meeting high safety requirements.

Scope of EN 10025-1 Standard

It addresses many important parameters from the production process of the steels to their final use stage. It covers hot-rolled flat and long products used as structural steel in the iron and steel industry. This standard regulates the properties of the products, delivery conditions, and quality control procedures. However, pipes and hollow profiles are not included in this scope.   The basic properties of structural steel are provided in the following standards: EN 10025-2: Basic properties of unalloyed structural steels EN 10025-3: Technical delivery conditions for normalized/thermomechanically rolled, weldable fine-grain structural steels EN 10025-4: Technical delivery conditions for thermodynamically rolled fine-grain structural steels EN 10025-5: Technical delivery conditions for structural steels with improved atmospheric corrosion resistance EN 10025-6: Technical delivery conditions for quenched and tempered high yield strength flat products

What Are the Responsibilities of the Manufacturing Organization?

Establishing and Implementing a Factory Production Control System (FPCS)

The manufacturing organization must establish a Factory Production Control System (FPCS) in accordance with the TS EN 10025-1 standard and must apply this system continuously. This system ensures that the products undergo quality control at every stage.   Implementing ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) Organizations with an ISO 9001 Quality Management System can document their quality processes through the Quality Manual and other documents, certifying the quality management system.   Initial Type Tests, Test Methods, Sampling, and Inspections Initial type tests must be performed when the standard is first applied. Tests that have been conducted previously in accordance with the provisions of this standard (same product, same characteristics, same test method, same sampling process, same declaration system, etc.) can be considered. Additionally, initial type tests must be conducted when a new production method is introduced that could alter the declared properties. Samples must be taken from production according to the determined production plan and must undergo inspections and tests in compliance with the EN 10025-1 Standard. This process ensures that the products meet the technical requirements.   Maintenance and Calibration of Measuring and Testing Equipment The maintenance and calibration of measuring and testing equipment used in production and quality control processes must be regularly performed. This ensures that the products are tested with accurate measurements.   Product Traceability, Labeling, Packaging Manufacturers must ensure traceability of each product. This is a critical step to follow the steel production process and to develop quick solutions in case of any issues. Marking should be placed near one end of each product or, depending on the manufacturer’s preference, at the cut end, but positioned in a way that does not cause confusion with regulatory markings. It is acceptable to deliver products in tightly bound bundles.   Personnel Training and Competencies The competence of the personnel conducting the production and product control processes must be ensured through regular training. The knowledge and competence of the personnel in this field directly affect product quality.   Declaration of Conformity The manufacturing organization must declare that the products they produce conform to the EN 10025-1 Standard. This declaration of conformity demonstrates that the products meet the required quality and safety standards.   You can apply to ATC International for certification application for hot rolled structural steels according to EN 10025-1.
